ABOUT/MEANING: “Can’t Stop” centres on the irresistible desire to keep calling the name of someone who has become deeply important to you. Described as “the most beautiful noun,” their name feels almost like a spell: speaking it awakens an unfamiliar drive within the narrator, giving him direction and drawing him towards the person he sees as a special fate.
As that connection strengthens, the boundaries between “you” and “me” begin to disappear. Rather than simply following a predetermined path, the two imagine creating something new together, holding hands even as the world changes around them. What the narrator “can’t stop,” then, is not only his feelings, but the act of reaching towards this person by name - calling for them again and again as the force that leads him forward.
The imagery also resonates with TXT’s recurring use of names and calling one another throughout their music. Across their coming-of-age work, a name can represent recognition and connection; in “Can’t Stop,” the narrator actively becomes the one calling out, repeatedly reaching towards the person whose name has become impossible for him to stop saying.
LYRICS - ENGLISH TRANSLATION
Your name, the most beautiful noun
Once spoken, I can't resist my instincts
I found after searching for so long, a special fate
Can’t stop calling you
Can’t stop calling you
Can’t stop calling you
Can’t stop ’cause I need you
Can’t stop, I call out loud
That name leads me forward
Like this
Just can’t stop
No borders between us now
Just can’t stop
Nothing can come between us, so I just can’t stop
You know
We knew the unknown power
Cast a spell, just your name
Then it strangely rose, this drive
You know
Everything goes our way if it’s us two
We are drawing it new right now
Hold this hand until the world changes
Can’t stop calling you
Can’t stop calling you
Can’t stop calling you
Can’t stop ’cause I need you
Can’t stop, I call out loud
That name leads me forward
Like this
Just can’t stop
No borders between us now
Just can’t stop
Nothing can come between us, so I just can’t stop
Can’t stop calling you
Can’t stop calling you
Can’t stop calling you
Can’t stop ’cause I need you
