Drawing upon imagery from Hans Christian Andersen’s 'The Snow Queen', tthe album echoes Gerda’s journey to find Kai, whose frozen heart is ultimately thawed through love. The story’s themes of distance, perseverance and reunion give new meaning to the album’s winter imagery, reflecting a connection capable of surviving even the longest separation. Yet reunion does not erase everything that happened while they were apart, nor does it return them to the innocence they once shared. Instead, SANCTUARY presents love as the conscious choice to reconnect despite the passage of time and the changes both people have experienced. What was frozen begins to thaw, creating space for healing and a new beginning.
