ABOUT/MEANING: 'Happy Fools' explores the boys'* embrace of carefree moments and their desire to remain in a state of blissful ignorance. Reflecting the enchanting freedom of Neverland, the track conveys the joy of living in the present, where adult responsibilities feel distant and insignificant, while also acknowledging the unsustainable nature of such escapism. It captures the internal conflict between the temptation to stay in this fantasy world and the inevitable need to face adulthood's responsibilities, as the boys struggle to balance the innocence and joy of their past with the growing realization that maturity requires embracing life's complexities.

*For further context on the song check out 'The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION' album summary

"The lyrics are about how I want to leave my current worries for the me of tomorrow and just enjoy the moment right now that won’t come back. Me and the members thought about our own experiences and wrote the lyrics to the song.  Everyone has a time like that in their life, right? People telling you that the future is important even though you’re working really hard right now. Times when people tell you that you can’t delay things anymore, so you just have to walk the skewed path. It’s a song that we wrote honestly by thinking back to our thoughts in times like this.” - Beomgyu

NOTE: There is also a TXT version of this song, which features a new rap verse written by Yeonjun, replacing Coi Leray's original verse. This version is not available on music streaming services but can be found on TXT's official channel, along with a special performance clip. While the clip includes lyrics in the captions, feel free to visit the 'lyric' page on our site for an in-depth explanation of the nuances in Yeonjun's verse.

LYRICS - ENGLISH TRANSLATION (translations by @translatingTXT)

Happy happy happy fools

Happy happy happy fools

Happy happy happy fools

Happy happy happy happy

I have so much to do

But no plans on doing it

They always say the future's more important than the present

No matter what they say

I don’t care, I give up

I've already hopped on this skewed path,

Just enjoying it

They say I’m a fool

But even if things get delayed, I’m not afraid

Every day is happy

I’m locked in a sweet moment

Leave those worries for the me of tomorrow

This moment right now will never come again, yeah

I don’t want to leave

Here on this path of pleasure, I’m like a butterfly

The honey bee that only works

Has no idea how pretty the sunset sky is

BEOMGYU: "A honeybee or a worker ant doesn’t have a chance to see how pretty the sky is because it only ever works, and they do the same work every day; I felt like that was me when I used to be nervous and impatient at the thought that I must do better. During my trainee days, I used to look at the sky first thing when I got off work - that’s when I used to feel like my day was put together. But one day I was thinking and suddenly realized that I had never seen the daylight sky with the sun out or the sunset. I felt a bit unfair when I realized this, so I thought of that while writing these lyrics."

Don’t wanna do my thing

I have no regrets

I’ll be the laziest Superman

So follow me

This lush taste of laziness

It's so sweet

SELF REFERENCE: When the 'The Name Chapter: Temptation' logo evolution is played in reverse, Yeonjun can be heard saying: "It's so sweet but I should find my name."

The dreamlike guilty pleasure right before my eyes

Happy happy happy fools

Happy happy happy fools

Happy happy happy fools

Happy happy happy happy

Gucci coats & kisses

You should know that I’m expensive

Take a trip from Cali

Now my Rollie on Korean time

Foreign came in lemon lime

I just wanna live my life

Yea I like red roses

But I rather you come spend some time

H-A-P-P-Y

We go up like the moon

TXT and Coi Leray

Get it poppin’ like balloons

We gon’ party every day

Living like some happy fools

Doing what we wanna do

Yea yea yea

I want to savor this moment,

I’m the center of the world,

I’m like a butterfly

The honey bee that only works can't even feel the pleasant breeze

Don’t wanna do my thing

I have no regrets

I’ll be the laziest Superman

So follow me

The lush taste of laziness

It's so sweet

The dreamlike guilty pleasure right before my eyes

Happy happy happy fools

Happy happy happy fools

Happy happy happy fools

Happy happy happy happy

Helpful Context (Album Summary): 'The Name Chapter: Temptation' draws inspiration from Peter Pan, exploring the seductive allure of Neverland: a dreamlike realm of eternal youth and carefree freedom. After the chaos and heartbreak of earlier chapters, the boys* stand at a crossroads, torn between the fantasy of staying in this idealized world and the call to grow up. The pull of Neverland is strong, but temptation cannot last forever; even the sweetest dream fades when reality calls. The album’s songs trace their internal conflict, reflecting the universal fear of change and the comfort of avoidance. Ultimately, they realize that to discover who they truly are, they must leave Neverland behind. Trading illusion for growth and fantasy for the future, the boys take their first steps toward self-defined identity and the challenges that come with it.

Helpful Context (Album Series Summary): The Name Chapters explore the journey of discovering and defining one’s true self amid internal doubt and societal pressure. Building on the emotional aftermath of The Chaos Chapters and Thursday’s Child, these albums follow the boys as they transform pain into personal growth. Focused on self-acceptance and authenticity, the series marks a pivotal step in the transition from adolescence to adulthood: the search for who they are, and who they aspire to become.

*In the context of TXT’s discography, the term ‘boy’/‘boys’ are used to represent both the members themselves as well as serve as generalized protagonists embodying the universal experiences of youth.
