ABOUT/MEANING: “Ice Cream” explores attraction through sweetness, anticipation and careful pacing. Using its namesake as a playful metaphor, the song captures the balance between wanting to get closer and knowing that moving too quickly can overwhelm the very feeling you are trying to enjoy - get too close to the heat and ice cream melts; have too much too quickly and you risk a brain freeze.
That tension gives the relationship its charm. There is clear desire between the two people, but neither closeness nor commitment needs to be forced. Instead, they allow the connection to develop at a pace that feels comfortable, respecting one another’s boundaries while enjoying the excitement of what is already happening between them.
Coming after the unfamiliar pull of “Vanilla,” “Ice Cream” reveals a more measured side of desire. Attraction does not have to mean surrendering immediately to impulse; Yeonjun can want something intensely while still giving it room to develop naturally. Within PART 02, that balance between desire and restraint becomes another small reminder that seemingly contradictory qualities can comfortably coexist within the same person.
