ABOUT/MEANING: “We’ll Never Change” reflects on the desire for an important connection to endure even as the people within it inevitably change. Their differences are not treated as flaws; in fact, the narrator recognises that if they had always felt the same way about everything, they may never have been able to love each other as they do. Instead, they gradually influence and “colour” one another, filling each other’s gaps while remaining distinct individuals.
The title’s promise is therefore deliberately bittersweet. Distance may separate them, they will grow older and their lives will continue to change, but the connection they have created does not have to disappear with those changes. Like colours blending into a lasting masterpiece, each person leaves something with the other that “will never fade away.” “We’ll never change” is less a promise to remain exactly the same than a vow that, through all those changes, what they mean to one another will endure.
LYRICS - ENGLISH TRANSLATION
If we had lived our lives,
Feeling the same way about everything,
I'm sure we wouldn't have been able to
Ah, love each other like this.
Don’t wanna let go, let go, let go,
You taught me colors that now tint my life
Let go, let go, let go, it’s everlasting,
Like that masterpiece
Over and over again,
Even at a distance,
Even as we get older,
One vow,
We’re never, we’re never, we’re never changing
Blending into each other,
Filling each other’s gaps,
Our love sparkles,
I know that we’ll never change
You, you, my heart,
You, you,
We’re never, we’re never, we’re never changing
You, you, will never fade away,
You, you,
I know that we’ll never change
Our differences are not wrong
I want to know every side of you
Don’t wanna let go, let go, let go,
These nameless emotions that I feel,
Let go, let go, let go
By my side, you were always there,
Over and over again
Even at a distance,
Even as we get older,
One vow,
We’re never, we’re never, we’re never changing
Blending into each other,
Filling each other’s gaps,
Our love sparkles,
I know that we’ll never change
You, you, my heart,
You, you,
We’re never, we’re never, we’re never changing
You, you, will never fade away,
You, you,
I know that we’ll never change
We’ll never change
